The Government luso will send to a contest for the Terrestrial Digital Television (TDT) the first semester of 2006 thus to apply one of the objectives marked in his program, within the chapter dedicated to the communications
According to the Economic Daily
metropolitan newspaper, the Portuguese group Average Capital, the German company Siemens and the company of telecommunications of the Portuguese Joao Pereira Coutinho, SGC Telecom, are interested in participating in the contest.
These companies will make the final decision when the details are known the definitive model, that still is in phase of study on the part of the Government and the National Authority of Communications (Anacom).
This contest will allow Portugal to create an alternative network within the society of the information and to fulfill the opinions of the European Commission, adds the newspaper.
Brussels determined that the blackout
of the analogical television and the passage to the digitalis are due to realize before 2012.
