The Hispanic chain Univisión is conceited of which its television newscasts of the 18,00 hours, emitted in New York (by the WXTV) and Los Angeles (by the KMEX) is leaders of hearing between the smaller spectators of 49 years, surpassing to its competitors in English of the ABC, CBS and NBC.
In declarations to Associated Press, Ray Rodriguez, president of Univisión, it commented that this growth is “a clear sample of how is changing to the USA and a much more important tendency that the own indices of hearing”.
And it is that the Hispanic citizens of New York have happened of 2.7 million, in 1990, to 4.3 million, this same year, according to numbers of the office of the census of the USA.
Ramon Pineda, manager of WXTV, explain that “the Hispanic Harlem is dominated by Mexican; the Bronx has Puerto Ricans; Washington Heights is full of Dominican and in Queens and Brooklyn there are Mexican Colombians and”, who also are present in other populations near New York. In Los Angeles, the panorama is much more clear: “85% of our spectators are Mexican”, affirms the person in charge of KMEX, Maelia Macin.
