A Russian rocket threw to the space from the mase Baoikonur of Kazakhstan the Canadian satéite Ciel-2, which "reached successfully the due orbit and came into operation operationally" as it was foreseen, as he informs the factory of the rocket, the Center Nikolai Jrunichev.
The satellite of communications Ciel-2, of 5,575 tons, was constructed by the French company Alcatel Alenia Space for order of the Canadian Ciel Satellite.
The device is provided with 32 transpondedores in band Ku and, for at least 15 years, it will give civil communications services Canadian and other parts of the North American territory, according to informations of the Russian agency Ria Novosti.
With regard to the Russian rocket used for the throwing, it is a question of the Proton, the principal driving vehicle used for this type of programs. In fact, the authorities of Russia have already carried 320 throwings out with this system.
