Arianespace pointed out that it has obtained a contract for the putting in orbit in 2010 of a satellite for the Egyptian operator Nilesat, dedicated to offering television coverage in Middle East.
The satellite Nilesat 201 will be thrown by an Ariane-5 or by a Russian rocket Soyuz, also commercialized by the European consortium, and it will detach from the Kurú base, in the French Guyana.
The Nilesat 201, which will be made by the franco-Italian group Thales Alenia Space, will have a mass closely of three tons to the blast-off and it will be equipped by 24 repeaters in band Ku and four in band Ka.
It will be the third satellite of the Egyptian operator of whose throwing Arianespace will entrust himself, after having done it with the Nilesat 101 in 1998 and with the Nilesat 102 in 2000.
The general manager of the European spatial consortium, Jean-Yves Le Gall, it showed his pride for this contract formalized during the visit to Egypt of the French prime minister, François Fillon, and he underlined that the Arianespace election for the operator is a sample of the "recognition of the quality and of the excellence of our offer of service and solutions of throwing".
