We condemn the unacceptable violation of the freedom of the press in Somalia", said the director of the African office of the FIP, Gabriel Baglo, in a bulletin spread in Dakar.
"To prohibit the private means is the worst way of reconciling the Somali people", it pointed out the bulletin.
According to the FIP, which he quotes to the National Union of the Journalists of Somalia (UNPS), the National Agency of Safety of Somalia (ANS) delivered a judgment "and the closing of the delegation did not facilitate any reason" of To The Yazira TV and the cessation of the broadcasting stations I remove Shabelle, Remove Voice of Holy Quran and Remove HornAfrica.
The martial law, accepted last January 13 by the transition Parliament, cannot be a justification for the closing of the private broadcasting stations and of the delegation of To The Yazira, made sure the FIP.
In this sense, one urges the Somali Government to he open "immediately" the broadcasting stations again and assure that the journalists could work freely in the capital and in the rest of the country.
