This way it has been shown by Zeinal Bava, executive president of the Portuguese operator of telecommunications that gained the contest to operate in TDT in Portugal.
In three months the tests phase will begin. Between eight and twelve localities of the country, included the islands of Azores and Madeira, will release this service. The target of the company, as indicated the proper Bava, is that in December, 2009 80 % of the national territory has coverage TDT.
PT also proposes to go forward the end of the analogical emission, although it is not known yet if the Government will do it. The Portuguese minister of Public works and Transports, Mario Lino, aimed that "in some moment of 2011" the date will be marked for the 'analogical blackout', while the forecasts point out that this will only take place in January, 2012.
For his part, the television channels, in particular private SIC and TVI, ask the State for incentives, so much for them as for the consumers, to promote the change of analogical to digitalis.
