Mediaset, RAI and 7 agree to distribute the channels of the Italian TDT across the satellite Eutelsat Hot Bird (13th East) this way terrestrial route gives coverage in those areas of the country where the sign does not come

Mediaset with 48 % of the capital, the public RAI, also with 48 % and the private road 7 of the group Telecom Italia with the remainder 4 % of the actions has constituted a new consortium with the target to start during the next June the new satellite platform Tivù Sat.

On this platform one tries to meet answer to those geographical points of Italy where the sign of the TDT does not come.

The select orbital position has been finally that of Eutelsat Hot Bird (13th East), given that in her there is expressed the majority of the number of channels that shape the offer of the TDT.

The analogical blackout in Italy is foreseen for the year 2012.
