The president of
Eutelsat, Giuliano Berretta, has shown that during this year there will be thrown to the space three new satellites of the company to which two will follow him more in 2010.
In December, 2008 there were already thrown successfully Hot Bird 9 (13th East) and
Eutelsat W2M (16th East), which at present realize several operative tests before entering definitely service. With these new satellites,
Eutelsat increases his capacity in band
Ku in 30 %.
In 2008, the useful load of chains of television of the fleet of
Eutelsat increased in 16 % compared to 2007 with a whole of transmission of 3.100 channels. In what
atañe to the number of channels of television of high definition this
(HDTV) they doubled, happening from 31 to almost 70.

(VOD).
Across his satellite W2A, which is programmed to be thrown in March, the company with head office in Paris wants to offer mobile television and the interactive services for the vehicles in the band S of frequencies. The capacity will be commercialized by Solaris Mobile, a joint enterprise formed by
SES Astra and
Eutelsat.
