ONO foresees that the payment TV has a strong development in Spain
The company foresees that the market of the television of payment reaches in Spain a penetration of 42 % in 2009

The president of ONO, Eugenio Galdón, affirms that the market of the television of payment points at a "strong development" in the next years, and that before 2009 it might achieve in Spain a penetration of 42 % of the population, opposite to 25 % that presents this market at present.

Galdón tells that in case of the European markets this number is very top, reaching up to 42 % in France, 44 in the United Kingdom, or 62 % in Germany. "All the projections point at a strong development of the TV of payment in our country during the next years, to come in 2009 to a penetration of 42 % of the population, more nearby (although still low) to the European average".

According to Galdón, his company is "preparadapara to confront this challenge, and that occupies a privileged position" to contribute to the development of the television of payment in Spain. Galdón remembered that, with 900.000 clients, ONO has a market share of 26 % on the market, and that, according to TNS/Sofres information it has already reached a quota of screen of 5,42 % of the consumption of television.

According to the president ONO, three key elements for the bet of the company are the platform of television of ONO'S payment, with an avant-garde offer in low video it demands ('Eye, TV to your way'), the aptitude to add contents and services of low video demands thematic, and the aptitude to produce proper contents, as it is the case of his two own channels: the channel of Spanish movies We Are and Telecorazón, channel dedicated to all the actuality of the social chronicle, in alliance with the audio-visual producer Mediapro.
