This way it has been announced by Telenor Satellite Broadcating (TSBc), who has programmed the throwing of the new satellite from the Baikonour kosmódromo, in Kazakistán with the espectativa of which the Thor 5 comes into operation during the first four months of 2008.

The Thor 5 has already entered the last construction phase on the part of the company STAR-TM. The Thor 5 will be provided with 24 transpondedores in band Ku. It will weigh approximately 2.450 kilograms in the throwing and will improve the coverage of the service of Telenor in the northerly countries, Europe and the Middle East.

The Norwegian company of telecommunications Telenor is the proprietress of the Thor 5. Telenor operates in the position of 1st West with the satellites Thor 2 and Thor on 3 placed along with the Intelsat 10-02.
