A rocket Ariane 5 despegóde the Kurú base, in the French Guyana, with two telecommunications satellites, ProtoStar I, of the American operator ProtoStar, and the Badr 6, of the operator Arabsat.
The rocket, which takes the logotype of the newly released French presidency of the European Union, detached of the spatial Kuru base on 21:47 Monday GMT, on July 7.
The ProtoStar 1, constructed by Space Systems Loral of Palo Alto (California), will provide sign of television of high definition and Internet of high speed to the whole Asian Southeast. It is provided with 22 transpondedores of band Ku and 38 of band C.
The Badr 6, fruit of an association between EADS Astrium and Thales Alenia Space, will allow to Arabsat to transmit live television programs to more than 130 million viewers from Morocco to the Persian Gulf, spending for big part of the sub-Saharan Africa.
It is provided with 20 transpondedores of band Ku and 24 of band C. It will provide television services in the regions of Middle East and North Africa. There has been constructed by EADS Astrium i Thales Alenia Space.
