The director of the Bundesliga worries because a battle with the authorities antimonopoly of Germany might cause him economic problems to the league.
Christian Seifert said to the newspaper Bild that an agreement for six years and 4.700 million dollars with the television channel for payment Premiere by the rights of transmission of the Bundesliga, which begins in 2009, might be cancelled if the authorities determine that it affects the free competition.
"Then we would have to look for a new way of doing the things. Some persons who take decisions in Germany seemingly believe that the Bundesliga is healthy and works as for magic art", said Seifert. "I warn them that we are directed to cause a big damage to the soccer in the country".
Seifert also criticized other laws that might reduce the income of the league, including one that proposes to prohibit the alcoholic beverages publicity in the stadiums.
"We need more income of the television", indicated Seifert. "The Bundesliga competes with the principal leagues in Spain, England or Italy. If we do not close the breach with them, our opportunities in the Cup UEFA and the Champions League sink automatically".
