Both companies have reached an alliance that will allow to the Premiere clients to have an Internet connection of wide band to see the parties of the Bundesliga using devices specially connected to his TV sets.
Georg Kofler, manager of Premiere, declared that Telekom and Premiere have always made clear that according to the tender, the movies also they can transmit route cable and satellite, in IP-Standard. Georg Kofler adds that they have afforded to do that and it added, telling that they are not afraid of any legal challenge of the German League or of the owner of the rights of television, Sand.
Deutsche Telekom is a proprietor of the rights give Internet to re-transmit the parties. Premiere lost the rights for the live television before Sand last December.
Premiere has said that the agreement is for next three years, and that soon both companies will give more details. At the moment nothing is known about the economic information.
The analysts have pointed out that the initial agreement would allow to Premiere to offer meetings of the Bundesliga to only the half of his approximately 3,5 millions of subscribers.
Sand, a branch of the operator of cable Unity Media, paid approximately 200 million euros for the rights of transmission of the live parties in television, and it has threatened to take measurement legal against Deutsche Telekom and Premiere if these rights are infringed.
Deutsche Telekom paid 50 million euros for the Internet rights.
