Hot Bird 2 was thrown to the space in November, 1996 and from this moment 13th East was always placed in. As a result of one technical anomalies, Eutelsat decided to transfer last March 13 the operative transpondedores of Hot Bird 2 to the satellite Hot Bird 8.

Plans of Eutelsat

The satellite that the society Austrium is constructing will be provided by 64 transpondedores in band Ku, which will allow to Eutelsat to cover all the frequencies in his most commercial position, that of 13th East, with only three satellites: Hot Bird 8, Hot Bird 9 and Hot Bird 10.
