Eutelsat has bought the most expensive insurance policy of the history before the throwing to the space of the satellite Hot Bird 9, which coposicionará in 13th East, the most commercial orbit of the considered one as the third operator satelital more important than the world, after Intelsat and Ses Astra.
In particular, the insurance policy covers the entire quantity of approximately 2,4 million dollars in risk situation. The agreement has been sealed by 20 different insurers, being the company Inspace Willis the most important company of all of them. The insurance protects also all the satellites that Eutelsat wants to throw to the space in the next three years.
Although there is no needed date yet, Hot Bird 9 will be thrown to the space during the next autumn across a rocket Ariane 5 of Arianespace. The throwing will be carried out, probably, from Kourou, in the French Guyana.
Eutelsat Hot Bird 9 will be provided by 64 transpondedores, all of them in band Ku and possibly (it is not confirmed) substitute when it comes into operation Hot Bird 6.
