Although Francisco Ros, secretary of the State of Telecommunications and Information society, put special emphasis on the development of the TDT of payment, he has warned that the current licenses do not contemplate this possibility. Also, he has affirmed that the television across mobile telephony will stay "in failure" until end of the term.

In the frame of the Forum 'Society in Network', Ros has told that it is this technology "it is feasible" and is between a lot of possibilities that the TDT offers. This way, it has pointed out that payment events might be impelled, by means of the application of "simple cards readership, very simple".

The Department of Industry knows the interest on the part of Spanish operators in whom it is considered to be the possibility of offering payment events. Between the above mentioned there is Mediapro, whose president, Jaume Roures, who has claimed this question in diverse occasions.

"Since the technology offers it, if the rest of Europe also advances in this sense, we believe that in a future moment there might come the possibility of analyzing this situation for Spain", has emphasized the person in charge of the Department of Industry.


The TDT licenses are already granted

Said this, Ros has underlined that the TDT licenses are granted, at present, to express openly and has remembered that when the operators decide to compete and accept the permission "they know in what conditions it is offered, what opportunities it has of his digital and economic projects go out forward".

From here on, the secretary of the State has emphasized that "the operators can choose to keep on operating if they see that it turns out to be interesting and feasible to them" and in the opposite case, they have the possibility of "returning the license".

On the other hand Ros has indicated that the starting of the television across mobile telephony "has stayed in failure" in the present term on having lacked legal coverage.
