The Soccer Club Barcelona and Emissions Digitals of
Catalunya, entity belonging to the Group
Godó, they have come to an agreement that will allow Barca TV to express openly in the territorial
Catalunya ambience.
The emission of Barca TV will be across the thematic program number 2 of terrestrial digital television included in the channel
múltiplex of Emissions Digitals. The contract will have validity until June 30, 2013.
With this agreement, the Soccer Club Barcelona gives one more step in the service line towards his associates and fans, who from now on will be able to enjoy the Barca contents TV, of a free way, in the Catalan geographical ambience. Also, the club also has the will to promote this service vocation with the development of services of sufficient information that allow the implantation of the system
EPG (Electronic Program
Guide), IF (Service Information) and teletext like extra cost services, thanks to the fact of which the
TDT makes possible to the access to interactive services.
The president of the
FC Barcelona has remembered that "the diffusion openly of Barca TV will bring it over to thousands of Barcelona supporters and will fulfill an old aspiration of the club and of the people of the Barca. Also he has emphasized that "the presence of the television of the Soccer Club Barcelona in the
TDT should be one more step to invigorate the process of technological change through that Catalonia lives to adapt itself to this new reality".
Barca TV at present expresses sixteen daily hours in system of access codified across Digitalis +, networks of cable and
ADSL. It is a question of a thematic channel that centers his contents on the
FC Barcelona, be already from the actuality and the information, or of the entertainment and the publication. It is a channel that he speaks about soccer and sport, which gives answer to the sports center vocation that it defines to the club.
Out of the territorial ambience of Catalonia, for the time being Barca TV will keep on expressing in system of access restricted by means of the platform of television for Digital satellite +, as well as across
Imagenio and Ono, the platforms of television for
IP or cable.
