Luis Sahún, general manager of Satellites Astra for Spain has sent a letter to the minister of Industry, Miguel Sebastián, in which it accuses Hispasat (whose reference shareholder is Abertis), of exercising a monopoly de facto, in the deployment of the terrestrial digital television. The sender reminds to the minister the article 38 of the Spanish Constitution that assures the free concourse.
Astra insists on the situation of monopoly of fact of Hispasat and he remembers that the proper Department has subsidized the pilot plan of analogical blackout realized in the province of Soria, naturally for Hispasat.
The satellites turn out to be much adapted to refill the areas of shade of the deployment of the TDT. The commitment of the Government is that the entire analogical blackout takes place in 2010, although some channels, like Four, prefer that there is supported the current situation of oligopoly of the analogical TV the biggest possible time, until they obtain a major market share.
