For offering a significant fact of the importance that received the world of the television, the number of recipients went on from 600 TV sets in October, 56, to approximately 15 millions in the Spanish hearths at present.

The television was "slipping in", little by little, but in an unstoppable way, in the hearths, up to turning into a phenomenon without which it is possible to understand neither the configuration of the society nor the current life.

These are the facts most emphasized of these 50 years from the birth of the television in Spain:


- 28.10.1956. - There is inaugurated, from the Walk of the Havana, the daily service of television, which began with emission from 20,30 until 23,30 hours, with scope only for Madrid; there were 600 recipients, and the price was of approximately 30.000 pesetas, completely prohibitively.

- 1957. - There begin the news and the spaces of dessert; the Spanish television was provided with approximately 70 employees.

- February, 1959. - The Miramar studies are inaugurated, in Barcelona.

- 21.12.1959. - The First connection with Eurovision owing to the visit to Spain of the American president Eisenhower; in this year there is reached the number of 10.000 recipients of television.

- 2.5.1960. - Incorporation of the Spanish television, what allowed to Mundovisión to receive in November, 1963 the images of the murder, in Dallas, from the president Kennedy; the recipients of the hearths reach in this year the 100.000.

- 18.7.1964. - Opening of the studies of Meadow of the King, a decisive step that facilitated the recording of numerous programs and the development of the way. This year went over to the million recipients in the Spanish hearths.

- 15.11.1966. - There is started the second chain of television, known as UHF.

- 1969. - The Regional Centers Begin to develop.

- 1970. - The television devices rise up to almost four millions, have multiplied for four in only six years.

- 1973. - RTVE as such Is born juridical denomination and the color television comes.

- 1976-1977. - RTVE initiates a liberalization stage after the death of the dictator Franco and the first steps towards the democracy, aspect that has a strong reflex in the new air of the informative ones.

- 1982. - The center of Torrespaña Enters functioning.

- 1986. - The morning television Comes.

- 1989. - It begins the development of the autonomic televisions.

- 1990. - At the beginning of this year they begin to express Antenna 3 and Telecinco, and after this summer, Channel +, concluding the monopoly of RTVE like television general practitioner.

- 1996.-The first steps of the digital television.

- 1997. - The digital platforms Are born.

- 8.12.2004. - Code of self-regulation signed by the Government with the chains of television to improve the protection of the infancy in the emission.

For 2010 the called "analogical blackout" is foreseen in Spain, what will force to change the recipients or to adapt them, and will eliminate this way the technological system that he accompanied to the television from his birth.
