The cable television is the principal form of television of payment that is chosen in Cantabria, according to the Formless 2007 'The society in network', prepared by the National Observatory of the Telecommunications and of the Information society (ONTSI).
At national level, for the same indicators there is an average of 13,6 % hearths with payment television for satellite, 36,2 % with cable television and 48,9 % of hearths with television across the technology satellite.
In general, in the whole Spain one of four hearths has payment television, a service that has his biggest penetration, of 31 %, in the communities of Madrid and Balearics.
Most of the hearths receive the payment TV across the technology of the satellite, a circumstance that nevertheless does not happen in the regions of Asturias, Murcia, Cantabria and the Valencian Community, where the domineering option is the cable.
In fact, Cantabria occupies the third position as for the communities in which more it is decided in favor of the cable, which they are headed by Asturias, with 61,4 % of hearths that use this system of TV of payment.
Later, Murcia would be, with 51,5 %, and already in third position, Cantabria with 49,7 % of hearths with cable television. Behind there find communities as Valencia (49,3 %) Madrid (43,5 %), Andalusia (40,2 %) Aragon (37,5 %), Basque Country (35,5 %) and La Rioja, with 35 %, between others.
As for the ADSL, one of the five hearths from Balearics and from the Basque Country receives payment television across this technology.
