The Sirius 5 will be provided with 36 transpondedores of band Ku for ofrecerr service to the North of Europe and the region of the Baltic, as well as to the markets of television of Africa.
The new satellite also will offer 24 transpondedores in band C for a global and hemispherical coverage, which will distribute wide band, services point to point and VSAT.
The transpondedores of band Ku will be commercialized straight by SES Astra for the African market and by SES Sirius for those of the North of Europe, while the correspondents to the band C will be part of the commercial offer of SES New Skies.
From the last January of 2008, the Sirius 4 produces only in the orbital position of 4,8th East, to which one waits that the new Sirius 5 should be added in 2001. The Sirius 4 is the major satellite never constructed in Europe, therefore there has enough capacity for tormar the relief of his two predecessors, as it has done, of the Sirius 2 and of the Sirius 3.
