During his intervention in the presentation of the book 'Behind the Chamber. History of the television and of his 50 years in Spain', Ros told that this investment is directed "principally" to complete the first phase of the plan of transition to the TDT, which deadline of cessation of analogical emission is June 30, 2009. On having finished this term, a whole of 5,6 million Spanish (12,6 per cent of the whole) will have exclusively the reception of the digital sign.
Also, he remembered that the Government has already facilitated a few "soft" credits to the autonomous regions at the price of 560 million euros for the development of infrastructures that complement this national plan.
On the other hand, Ros indicated that the new technologies - Internet and mobiles - "are discovering properties that earlier did not exist and that they will affect in an intense way to the expositions of the TDT". In this sense, he emphasized that these changes, which "are neither insignificant nor trivial", are being received by "intensity" on the part of the users.
