In a bulletin, ONO tells that, in spite of his efforts to support the employment during 2007 and in the first part of 2008, the "worsening" of the environment and the bad macroeconomic perspectives they force the company to take this "painful measurement".

In the next days, ONO will fix the date of the call of opening of the advice period and the constitution of the table negotiator.

The ERE is part of a new plan of future that the company has presented today to the trade unions to face to the "drastic worsening" of the economic situation.

The plan contemplates a cost reduction, to fit to the minor activity in the current crisis context, and measurements to increase the quality of the service and the attention to the clients.

The company tells that inside the same plan, ONO agreed at the end of last July with the banks trade union a progress of the conditions of the financing for 3.600 million euros that closed in June, 2007.

The operator, who offers services of phone, television and Internet of wide band across his own optical fibre network, is provided with six million clients in Spain and in October it threw his first offers of Internet ultrarrápido (50 and 100 gentle ones).

ONO, who was created ten years ago, closed 2007 with 1.616 million income and 642 millions of operative benefit (EBITDA).
