Nevertheless and according to some informations, these tests have detected some problems in the new satellite DirecTV-10, which they might affect negatively to the plans of the broadcaster on the subject of high definition.

The Direct TV 10, there is one of the satellites that will give the necessary expansion to the provider satelital Direct TV for his channels in HDTV (high definition) in the position of a 102,8th West.

Direct TV has affirmed that for the year 2008 it already will have 100 channels in this format of high definition, what will suppose being the first operator on a global scale in having the biggest number of chains under this technical resolution.

The note adds that, after the separation of the third stage of the rocket, the acceleration block was located in a support orbit and to 10.25 GMT it will place the satellite in the due geostationary orbit, to 102,8 latitude grades west.

The DirecTV-10 fed by means of solar panels, is destined for the transmission of digital television of high resolution by cable and national networks in the continental part of the USA, Alaska and the islands of Hawaii.

The device, with a term of useful life of 15 years, will complete the flotilla of satellites DirecTV, principal provider of television for satellite in the USA, which till now were integrating nine gadgetry.

The DirecTV-10 has a 5,9 tons mass and it is provided with an antenna and systems of useful load formed by 32 transpondedores assets and other 12 of reservation.
