The telephony operators hope that the mobile television should cheer the users to spend up from 5 to 10 more euros a month, so that this expense compensates partly the income descent for the voice calls. Nevertheless, the mobile television and the discharges of video are two of the aspects related to his phones that less the consumers are interested in, according to a study on Europe published by Gartner, a counsel specializing in technology.
This study reflects that only 5 % of the Europeans has shown his interest to watch TV or videos in his mobiles in the next 12 months. In another end the Asians are, since about 20 % has affirmed that they would be ready to watch TV on the screens of his phones.
Too big mobiles
The music has been the principal engine for the mobile entertainment but there are analysts who trust in that the television turns also into an important incentive, a conclusion that doubts the Gartner study.
"I believe that the principal reason of this scarce interest is the necessary device to watch TV, that it has to be too big if you want a good visualization", has told Carolina Milanesi, analyst of Gartner. Also, the absence of consensus in the models of business and the variety of different technologies they have been making difficult the blast-off of the mobile television.
In Europe, three countries have started commercial networks, between them Spain. In Asia, since the bogey availability is not a problem, countries as India and Vietnam have already initiated the commercial emission. Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia also reckon to open his networks before the ends of the year.
